BOCES staff coordinates a shared service that offers students in component districts other than Schenectady City , the opportunity to attend the Schenectady International Baccalaureate Program.

Schenectady City Schools is one of the 950 schools in 150 countries officially authorized by the International Baccalaureate (IB) Organization to offer the IB Diploma (11^th and 12^th grades) and pre IB Programs (9^th and 10^th grades) and present candidates for examinations.  The IB curriculum is an integrated, comprehensive, and balanced mix of sciences and humanities emphasizing critical thinking, the interrelationship of academic subjects, a respect for cultural diversity and a broader world view.  Students are evaluated according to the highest international standards of assessment in 11^th and 12^th grades.
